Sikkema Jenkins & Co. COVID-19 Health & Safety Protocol:

In response to COVID-19, the gallery has implemented the following policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of our employees, clients, visitors and vendors. We hope that sharing this will help you feel safe when visiting our gallery.

EMPLOYEE HEALTH SCREENING:

All gallery employees, freelancers, and vendors working on-site are required to complete a daily Health Screening Questionnaire prior to being cleared for work. Employees are asked NOT to come to work if they, a member of their household, or other close contact:

 •Tested positive for COVID-19

 •Experienced a fever over 100° F in the past 48-hours

 •Experienced two or more symptoms commonly associated with COVID-19 that cannot be attributed to a preexisting condition or injury (cough, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, loss of taste or smell, muscle or body aches, etc.)

 •Have been notified of exposure to COVID-19 and are under a mandatory quarantine period as instructed by a State or local Health Department

UPDATED 3/7/2022: Employees are no longer required to submit daily screenings, but must continue to self-monitor for symptoms. Employees are asked to not come into work if any are experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19 or test positive for COVID-19. Self-testing kits are provided for free by the gallery. Employees are encouraged to take these kits home for at-home testing. In the event of a notice of workplace exposure, employees will be required to test for up to 6 days post-exposure.

EMPLOYEE POLICIES:

Work Schedule: Employees continue to work remotely if possible. Other employees work a maximum of 3 days a week on-site to minimize potential exposure. UPDATE 5/24/2021: All employees have been vaccinated and will resume normal work schedules.

Work Areas: Work areas/offices are not being shared. Each work area is being used by a single employee. When outside their work area, employees are reminded to observe social distancing guidelines, maintaining at least six feet distance from one another whenever possible. UPDATE 5/24/2021: All employees have been vaccinated and may share work areas, but are encouraged to maintain at least six feet distance from one another whenever possible.

Face Masks: Unless eating or drinking, employees must wear face masks. UPDATED: 3/7/2022 Employees are no longer generally required to wear face masks. In the event of a notice of workplace exposure, employees will be required to wear a mask for up to 5 days post exposure.

Hygiene: Employees are reminded to practice proper coughing and sneezing etiquette, even while wearing a face mask, and to wash their hands frequently, particularly upon arriving at the gallery and after interacting with others. Personal equipment (pens, clipboard, etc.) will not be shared.

Cleaning: Employees are responsible for cleaning and disinfecting personal work areas (desk, phones, keyboard, etc.). Cleaning and disinfecting of communal areas and commonly touched surfaces will be completed by an assigned employee on a scheduled basis.

VISITOR POLICIES:

Appointments are strongly encouraged. Five appointments are available for each half hour block and each appointment is for one person with one optional guest for a maximum of 10 visitors. UPDATE 5/19/2021: Appointments will no longer be available after May 18th as New York State has announced the removal of percentage based occupancy limitations, which will be be replaced with distance based occupancy limitations. The gallery will limit capacity only on an as needed basis in order to maintain the required social distance of 6 feet between patrons or parties of patrons.

All visitors are required to wear a face mask or covering throughout their visit. Masks and face coverings must be properly worn over both nose and mouth. UPDATED: 3/7/2022 Visitors are no longer required to wear face masks, but masking remains strongly recommended. The gallery may implement temporary masking requirements for visitors in response to local infection rates or other indications of increased virus transmission. A sign will be posted near the gallery entrance informing visitors of the mask requirement should one be implemented.

Visitors are reminded of social distancing guidelines and asked to maintain a minimum of 6 feet between groups.

Printed handouts such as press releases and checklists will not be available at the desk. Exhibition information is available on the gallery's website: www.sikkemajenkinsco.com or via QR code.

If any of the following apply to you, a member of your household, or close contact, you are asked not to visit the gallery:

The gallery will provide hand sanitizer but requests that visitors bring their own mask or covering.
